Today I was lying across the couch watching my wife type away on her laptop. Her attitude about as pleasant as having hemorrhoids. Why the attitude? Because I had to work this Sunday morning, and when I finally made it back home this afternoon, I was beat. This was a six day work week for me. Anyway, I accidently fell asleep during what she considers family time. Watching some damn movie she knows I don’t care to see as my toddler jumps all over me. Personally I consider good family time to be lying down and taking a nap together. But that’s just me. Don’t get me wrong. I love spending time with my girls, but today I was just too damn tired. And it was 84 degrees outside. Needless to say, she’s been pissed off since I fell asleep. Now that I’m up and refreshed, she’s not speaking to me and making little to no eye contact with me.
Here’s my thinking…why not enjoy the rest of this Sunday evening with me? Especially since you’re aware that tomorrow, I’m right back off to work.
Her thinking…how dare you work on your day off? And to top things off, fall asleep on me? (In her thinking, she’s not even considering how long of a week I’ve had. And to top it off, no air conditioning in this hot ass apartment)
Talia is a great woman. She’s my friend, my partner, and a damn good wife. But this woman never knows how and where she wants me. Right now, she wants my full attention. She wants to cuddle and watch lifetime movies. I’m sure the ladies are asking, what’s wrong with that? Well like I said, she doesn’t know what she wants. Don’t believe me? Listen to this. True story too. I was laid off from December 2007 until January 2008. I was obviously home a lot more. I had interviews here and there, but was pretty certain I’d be back to work in February. (which I was) Anyway while at home and spending, oh so much family time with my girls, the wife doesn’t seem so pleased. Seemed like every other morning she wanted to know if I was looking for work. It went from are you looking for work, to, when are you going back to work? See? She had me and wanted to get rid of me. Now I’m busy as all hell, and she misses me. Make up your damn mind woman. When you have me, and I’m awake, enjoy me and my company. Don’t spend your time pissed off with me and then cry tomorrow cause I’m back at work.
